Mixed media collage on canvas, framed in natural wood, ready to hang.
I hike in our forests several times a week, and I never get tired of it. The wildflowers, the mossy boulders, the blue sky, the ponderosa pines that smell so good after a late summer rain. Every once in a while I spot a deer and everything stops for a minute. In my mind they have always been little forest fairies, sweet magical angels of the woods.
This one appeared on a day spent in the forest about an hour south of Flagstaff with friends. I snapped her picture and knew she needed a painting. This piece is full of layered texture and that joyful, happy energy I felt standing there watching her.
