Original acrylic and mixed media painting on a wrapped canvas beautifully framed in wood, ready to hang.
The San Francisco Peaks are part of my daily life here in northern Arizona. I've been looking up at them for almost 50 years now, and they still bring me a sense of gratitude and peace. This piece captures a special early morning walk we took with our dog just outside of town, coming in from the northeast side of the mountain. It was one of those beautiful days where the light was just perfect, and the peaks seemed to be putting on their own little show for us.
I created this using my own hand-painted papers, trying to capture that magical moment when winter light makes the mountains glow in pinks and purples against the morning sky. The deer wandering through the snow and that muddy dirt road in the foreground just felt like the perfect finishing touch, reminding me why I love calling this place home.
